The Slugger JHM USA 101 portable magnetic drill is designed for onsite holemaking.
Fein Power Tools' improved JHM USA 101 portable magnetic drill offers precision holemaking capabilities and enhanced durability. The solid die-cast aluminum construction is lightweight at 31.7 lbs. (14.4 kg) yet designed to handle the adverse conditions of onsite construction. A drill spindle guide offers added durability to both the cutter and drill while also adding stability to the cutter.
It has a drilling capacity of 1-1/2"(38 mm) diameter, 2"(50 mm) DOC using Slugger HSS annular cutters with 3/4" Weldon shanks. The unit can be repositioned with the cutter attached due to its 2-9/16" stroke. The arbor support bracket and spindle guide helps the cutters maintain concentricity for positive slug (mechanical) ejection.
The JHM USA 101 has a stable torque drill motor that maintains consistent RPM and torque under full-load drilling, even in high-strength steels, according to the company. The motor, rated at 1,050 W, has a 530 W power output with a 480 RPM idle speed and 330 RPM load speed. The 6-5/16" X 4" magnet has a holding force of 2,000 lbs. SmartMagnet technology provides safe drilling on marginal surfaces or thin material. If the magnet breaks loose while drilling, the motor automatically shuts off. The unit's height is 15" minimum and 17-5/8" maximum.
The JHM USA 101 model has through spindle coolant delivery and a removable MagBot integrated coolant tank for overhead, upside down drilling tasks. Removable feed handles allow operation from either side and internal concealed motor wiring prevents it from snagging or getting tangled in the workpiece.
