MASCO will host live tooling demos and 5-sided/5-axis machining. Builder representatives will be on site during the event. "They will also offer a seminar on 5-sided/5-axis machining Wednesday, May 6, to cover new and improved manufacturing solutions and the benefit of one setup machining," said a company spokesperson. "Users who wish to reserve a seat for the seminar may visit www.mchysales.com and click on the Open House Seminar button."
Kitamura will display its Kitamura HX250G, which is designed for small part manufacturing. "The machine comes standard with full 4th axis rotary table and extended tool changer capacity to 102 tools," said the spokesperson. In addition, attendees will also see the new Kitamura Mycenter 3XD VMC and the new Mycenter T4G 5-axis with trunnion design.
"The OMAX 60120 and Gen 2 MAXIEM abrasive waterjets will be on display to cut complex parts and demonstrate ease of use, cost-effective maintenance and powerful software," said the spokesperson. The A-Jet head for performing 60-degree angle cutting will also be on display. MASCO invites attendees to bring part prints for evaluation by OMAX technical personnel.
Hurco will showcase five machines, including the Hurco VMX42SWi swivel head 5-axis machine which is built to machine structural aerospace and automotive parts up to 46" x 16". Other Hurco machines will include a 5-axis machine that will make medical parts along with a selection of VMC and turning centers.

"The tour will kick off with a webinar on April 16," said Maggie Smith, Hurco's Marketing Manager. "Additionally, we have revamped our educational website www.fiveaxismachining.com, which contains materials and webinars designed to help shop owners and machinists learn about 5-axis machining at their own pace. Attendees at the MASCO Open House will learn how to determine whether transitioning to a 5-sided process for existing work will benefit their business, how to decide which configuration of 5-axis machine has the most benefits for their parts and what questions to ask sales engineers during the purchasing process."
According to the spokesperson, Mike Cope, Product Specialist for Hurco, will educate attendees about issues that surround 5-axis machining, including workholding, tool path strategies and CAD/CAM packages.

According to the spokesperson, builder representatives will be on hand to discuss customer applications and answer technical questions. In addition, representatives from several tooling and accessory companies will display the latest in tooling and workholding.
Catered barbecue and refreshments will be served from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM each day.
