Doosan Infracore America Machine Tools (DIA) awarded Machine Tool Specialties (MTS) of Tulsa, OK, the Distributor of the Year award during its 21st Annual Distributor Conference at the Ritz-Carlton Cancun Resort, February 21, 2015. In addition, MTS took home a Century Award, which goes to each distributor that sells 100 Doosan machines in a single year.
Accepting the awards were MTS Founder Jack DeLaughter, his son and President Jeff DeLaughter, and Sales Engineer Scott Ames. Presenting the awards were J.Y. Lee, Vice President of Doosan Infracore Machine Tools Business Group and H.E. Ahn, CEO of Doosan Infracore America, along with the entire senior management team of DIA.
"MTS was a major contributor to our record year in machine sales at Doosan Infracore America by selling over 100 machines in Oklahoma and Southwest Illinois," said Mr. Ahn. "It is the dedication MTS has to its customers that have enabled Doosan to grow into a leading brand of CNC machine tools in the Americas."
Sales Engineer of the Year went to Danny Garrelts of Associated Machine Tool Technologies (AmTTech) of Houston, TX. In addition, Garrelts became the first single person in Doosan's history to sell over 100 machine tools in a single year, making him the first individual to earn Doosan's Century. Garrelts was cheered onto the stage by AmTTech Founder Jack Butts as well as Anne Beauregard, President of AmTTech. Presenting the awards were H.E. Ahn, CEO of Doosan Infracore America, along with Regional Sales Manager Marc Muniz.
"It is quite an accomplishment for Danny Garrelts to sell over 100 machines in a single year," said Andrew McNamara, DIA Director of Sales and Marketing.
Additional awards handed out by Andrew McNamara with Regional Sales Managers Marc Muniz (Southwest Region) and Tom Klukow (Midwest Region) included: 2014 Top Performance Award for the Southwest, which went to Scott Eddins of H & S Machinery; the 2014 Special Recognition Award for the Midwest, which went to Rick Boedeker of Technical Machinery; and a Bicentennial Award (for selling over 200 machines), which went to Jack Butts and Anne Beauregard of AmTTech. In addition, all of the above distributors received an Award for Outstanding Sales Performance, as did Richard Short of Adams Machinery.
