Multi-Axis CNC Programming
April 1, 2015
"Released late last year, PartMaker Version 2015 features a unique approach to post-processors for multi-axis turn-mill centers and Swiss-type lathes," said a company spokesperson.
PartMaker Inc., a division of Delcam, will demonstrate the latest version of PartMaker Software for programming CNC mills, lathes, wire EDMs, turn-mill centers and Swiss-type lathes. "Highlighting the new version is a completely revolutionary approach to CAM post-processing for multi-axis turn-mill centers and Swiss-type lathes," said a company spokesperson. "PartMaker Version 2015 includes the ability to generate a Post-Processor Reference Guide, an on-command manual explaining how to program a given multi-axis lathe and take advantage of all the machine's capabilities with PartMaker." The company will also be introducing its new, free productivity application, the PartMaker Multi-Channel Viewer.
According to the company, other highlights of PartMaker Version 2015 include improved support for today's latest breed of multitasking machine tools, more powerful milling and turning functionality and improvements in the software's knowledge based technology for storing optimal feeds and speeds for additional tools.
PartMaker 2015 includes specialist support for vertical mill-turns (VMTs). These machine tools provide the turning functionality typically found on a vertical turret lathe (VTL) with that of a 5-axis vertical machining center (VMC). PartMaker 2015 will also offer support for turret based Swiss lathes with programmable B-axis live tooling attachments.
PartMaker will feature its new PartMaker Multi-Channel Viewer PC app on the show floor. "The PartMaker Multi-Channel Viewer is a software application for users of multi-axis turn-mill centers and Swiss-type lathes to quickly view their multi-channel NC programs side-by-side, for virtually any multi-channel machine/control combination," said the spokesperson. "The PartMaker Multi-Channel Viewer will be configured for booth visitors by a PartMaker product specialist for their shop's exact line-up of multitasking machine tools. Visitors will receive the PartMaker Multi-Channel Viewer to install on their PC, and will also have it configured on the show floor to take away on a USB stick."
