KNUTH Unveils New Cutting Systems Showroom
April 1, 2015
KNUTH Machine Tools USA, a manufacturer and supplier of metalworking machinery, has opened its new show and demonstration room that will display three major cutting technologies - laser, plasma and waterjet. Starting with laser and plasma machines, KNUTH is ready to cut test parts for visiting customers. A 5-axis waterjet machine will be installed later in the year.
"Our goal in opening this showroom is to offer our customers the right technology, solution and machine for their cutting needs," said Daniel Maerklin, President of KNUTH USA. According to the company, a customer can come to KNUTH with a part that needs to be cut, and a KNUTH application engineer will provide cycle times and cutting results for the part on the different technologies - whether laser, plasma or waterjet. "Armed with this information, our customers can then make the best decision for their individual needs," said Maerklin. Customers outside the Chicago area are also invited to visit the new showroom.
According to the company, KNUTH technicians will pre-form the test cuts and time studies for a specified part and send the results to the customer. Based on the resulting data, KNUTH's sales staff will then follow up and walk the customer through the different pros and cons for each cutting system. "Bottom line, our aim is to find a solution for each customer," said Maerklin. "We are not out to sell one particular type of machine. Instead, we want to assist our customers in discovering the solution they have been looking for."
The specific machines featured in the new showroom are KNUTH's German-made Laser-Jet 2512, a 2 kW fiber laser with a 4' x 8' cutting table; the Plasma-Jet 1530 with an HPR 130XD plasma source; and the Hydro-Jet Eco 1313.
