The new NTX 1000 2nd Generation from DMG MORI features a B-axis and lower disk turret for up to 6-sided and 5-axis complete machining of smaller components for the medical, aerospace, watch-making and electronics industries.
The new DMG MORI NTX 1000 2nd Generation is a versatile turn/mill machining center. The NTX 1000 2nd Generation was created by the cross-company cooperation between the German and the Japanese development departments.
The NTX 1000 2nd Generation is a compact turn/mill machining center for complex turning and milling operations. Despite having a small footprint, the new machining center still offers a spacious work area. The tool spindle, for example, can handle a maximum turning diameter of 430 mm / 16.9 in. with a swing diameter of 680 mm / 26.8 in. The turning length is 800 mm / 31.5 in. and the tool spindle travel 455 x +/-105 x 800 mm / 17.9 x +/-4.1 x 31.5 in. (X / Y / Z). The Z-axis travel has been extended to 800 mm / 31.5 in. and the 210 mm / 8.3 in. Y-axis for off-center machining.
The B-axis has a swivel range of +/-120° and Capto C5 (HSK-A50) interface as the basis of complex 5-axis simultaneous machining with speeds of up to 12,000 RPM in the standard version (20,000 RPM as an option). In addition, the lower BMT turret as a 2nd toolholder with directly driven tools enables productivity-enhancing possibilities such as 4-axis machining or parallel machining on the main and counter spindles. Shorter per piece machining times is possible by parallel machining with two toolholders. This also applies to other possible uses of the 2nd toolholder. A live center can be mounted on the turret to support long workpieces during machining.
In terms of its construction, the NTX 1000 2nd Generation offers DDM (Direct Drive in the B-axis) and BMT (the high-end turret with integrated directly driven tools for milling). The machining center also has cooling measures for preventing thermal impacts from compromising machining precision. This includes the cooling of the ball screws (incl. nuts) and the turning and milling spindles of the B-axis and the BMT turret.
The NTX 1000 2nd Generation is available as a high-tech modular system with different expansion options. The diversity of versions ranges from a chuck lathe with B-axis to a version with additional tailstock/tail spindle combination and also expansion options with counter spindle and additional lower turret. Diverse automation options, such as gantry loaders or robotic handling, may also be included in the portfolio.
The machine is designed with the ERGOline control and CELOS. DMG MORI focuses on the Operate 4.5 platform with SIEMENS 840D solutionline. The NTX 1000 2nd Generation will also be available with FANUC 31iB.
