The new belt skimmer by Keller Products, Inc. is designed to eliminate skimmer discard pail overflow and permit virtually 100% tramp oil discard with no loss of coolant, while continuously recycling clean coolant to the sump.
"In contrast to conventional belt skimmers which attempt unsuccessfully to lift primarily tramp oil, the new 'Black Magic' skimmer directs all the fluid from the belt skimmer to a separation vessel where the tramp oil is held for discard and the clean coolant returns to the sump," said a company spokesperson.
According to the company, the new belt skimmer is easily mounted on the sump cover with a magnetic mount. The skimmer mounting bracket permits adjusting the height of the skimmer to access the sump. The collected tramp oil may be occasionally drained or poured from the separation vessel into a waste tramp oil container with no other operator attention required.
