Rotary Broaching Attachment

GenSwiss will feature the new rotary broaching attachment for STAR SR, ECAS and SW series machines. The new attachment allows for broaching from various flange mounted tool stations, giving operators more flexibility in job set-ups.
"The units feature a face mounting plate with the STAR toolholder bolt pattern and the same adjustment free design of GenSwiss 2160 Series Holders," said a company spokesperson. "They are interference free in most situations, and the 77 mm hangout from flange to tip of broach tool clears the sub-spindle on most STAR machine models. The head diameter is only 28 mm, which permits use in space limited sub-spindle applications. In addition, the compact size allows it to fit into tight tooling positions without losing adjacent I.D. stations. The 'no center indicating' capability allows for faster and easier set-ups, especially for less experienced machine operators. The direct mounting feature eliminates the need to install the holder in a bushing, thereby reducing vibration, increasing rigidity, increasing center accuracy and providing longer tool life."
