Next Generation System Offers Fast Drilling, Process Feedback

M4 Sciences LLC has released its next generation TriboMAM drilling system based on Modulation-Assisted Machining (MAM) technology. According to the company, the new system micro-controller is half the size of the previous generation and features new patented process level feedback technology such as real-time diagnostics and process stability monitoring.
"TriboMAM's ability to further monitor the drilling process increases the reliability of CNC machines in global medical, automotive, hydraulic and energy manufacturing sectors," said a company spokesperson. "With more than 100 TriboMAM systems operating in 15 countries, TriboMAM technology is finding wide adoption as a solution for drilling difficult materials, drilling deep holes and eliminating expensive cannulated bar requirements."
TriboMAM offers the following features, according to the company:
- Drills up to five times faster in diameters ranging from 0.2 - 12.0 mm
- Doubles tool life by improving the effectiveness of cutting fluids
- Improves surface finish in a range of applications
- Installs easily in one hour
- Adapts into existing machines and processes.
