End Mill Designed to Cut and Polish Simultaneously

Emuge Corp. has introduced its Cut & Form solid carbide finishing end mills featuring a patented tool geometry that performs two functions - cutting and polishing in one operation.

The tool's dual functionality is attributed to a unique design that incorporates three cutting edges to remove material and three burnishing edges to compact the material, producing polished mirror surfaces as fine as 0.08 µm Ra.

These high-performance tools are suited for trimming 2-D contours in non-ferrous materials such as aluminum and copper, and for the medical, jewelry, food and electronics industries.

"Cut & Form end mills are designed to dramatically speed machining throughput, eliminating time, secondary operations and cost," said Bob Hellinger, President of Emuge Corp.

Emuge Cut & Form end mills are available in two types, stub length and standard length designs, with cutting diameters of 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm. Tools are offered standard and are in stock at Emuge Corp.'s North American Headquarters.
