Explore Automated Gauging

New Scale Robotics will highlight its Q-Span Automated Gauging System at IMTS. Continuous live demonstrations in the booth will show this flexible robotic workstation measuring parts and collecting the data using three common gauges. A Monday morning conference session will help QC teams explore how to get started and what benefits to expect from gauging automation.

The Q-Span Workstation incorporates existing manual gauges and gauging techniques to automate QC inspection in high-mix, small-batch manufacturing. A collaborative robot (cobot) from Universal Robots supports ease of deployment and flexibility. Control software and tooling by New Scale Robotics offers ease of use for metrology labs and factory floor workers.

Conference Session

A Monday morning conference session, led by New Scale Robotics' Stefan Friedrich, will detail how manufacturers can get started with QC automation using cobots to automate dimensional gauging. The session is recommended for managers in small to medium-sized manufacturing organizations. No prior automation experience is needed.

"How to Automate Dimensional Gauging on the Production Floor" will take place Monday, September 12, 2022, from 11 AM to 11:55 AM in room W193-B. Topics will include:

  • Getting started with QC automation
  • Best practices for implementing collaborative robots in a quality department
  • Automation with existing shop floor gauges
  • Building a business case and assessing return on investment.
