Richland College Open House

Richland College recently hosted a gathering of manufacturing company owners and managers at its Engineering and Technology building to celebrate the eighth annual Manufacturing Day, a national event dedicated to raising awareness about career opportunities in the manufacturing sector. More than 137 students were in attendance, along with 30 industry partners.
Attendees heard presentations on the concrete things being done to address worker shortage, skills and training, as well as details of Richland College's advanced manufacturing programs. Tours of Richland College's engineering and technology labs were included in the agenda.
"I would like to extend a special thanks to our speakers Andy Ellard, Owner of Manda Machine Co., and Mark Hays, Vice Chancellor of Workforce Development at the Dallas County Community College District," said a Richland College spokesperson.
