COE Press Equipment has announced that it is developing a cut-to-length line for Bad Boy Mowers, a manufacturer of professional grade lawn mowers. "This investment will enable Bad Boy to bring much of its blanking operations in-house," said a company spokesperson. The new 60" blanking line is comprised of standard COE equipment including a Heavy-Duty 800 Series Servo Roll Feed, a 60" x 30' dual threading table, an HD-Series Heavy Duty 5" x 60" Power Straightener, a 50,000# capacity coil, a hydraulic production shear, a 120" long magnetic finger stacker with conveying system and an Allen Bradley ControlLogix controls package.
"Fabricators with varying production schedules and product sizes can benefit from cutting their own material in-house," commented Reid Coe, company President. "This approach provides better control of production planning, as well as streamlining processes, reducing scrap, improving quality and saving money."
Bad Boy's new cut-to-length line, the company's first, is being built to process steel (MCRS) that is .080" to 0.312" thick (depending upon material width) at 319'/min. The finger stacker provides direct drop stacking of the blanks to avoid potential damage or material marking. The stacker also has a powered scissors lift table capacity of 6,600 lbs. that is used for load/unload. It can handle blank widths from 24" to 60" and lengths from 24" to 120".
This is a turn-key project that includes installation, start-up and training assistance. COE's cut-to-length lines are built from standard COE coil processing equipment integrated with shear and stacking solutions, providing enhanced blanking solutions.
