Allied Machine & Engineering has released two mobile apps, Machinist Tool and Solution Hub, which are available for download at both the Apple Store and Google Play.
Machinist Tool
The Machinist Tool app is designed for machinists, tooling distributors and manufacturing engineers working with Allied's tools. Machinist Tool offers easy to navigate utilities and streamlines operations on the shop floor by mobilizing resources for drilling, boring, threading, reaming and roller burnishing.
Allied's Machinist Tool includes speed and feed, as well as trig functional, calculators, G&M machine code definitions and seven different tap drill charts, including the ACME general purpose (full profile), the Unified National and the ISO Metric - J Series. The app offers hot links to call Allied's engineers or to find a local Allied tooling distributor if users need technical support. Machinist Tool also includes quick access to GD&T definitions as well as the Boring Insert Selector, a utility that helps machine operators choose the correct insert for each boring application they might encounter.
The mobile app compiles a quick reference library of Allied Machine's holemaking and finishing resources such as technical guides and operation manuals. Accessible tech guides include an illustrated pocket reference for threading as well as recommended cutting data for ISO material types like hardened steel, stainless steel and titanium. Machinist Tool is available for download on both iPhone and Android devices and is available in Chinese, English, French, German, Korean, Mexican Spanish and Russian.
Solution Hub
The Solution Hub app is a fresh-faced expansion of the original Allied Machine app, now reimagined as a centralized "hub" of Allied product information and holemaking solutions. Solution Hub offers quick access to free online utilities, videos, tap drill charts, operation manuals, technical guides and digital catalogs for drilling, boring, threading, reaming, roller-burnishing and more.
Find product details, watch tool demos and flip through Allied Machine's lineup of holemaking solutions on the Solution Hub. Machine operators can find data on everything from shank options and diameter ranges for the 4TEX indexable carbide drill to NPT and Unified National tap drill charts. Handy resources also include a collection of Wohlhaupter operation manuals for the VarioBore, EK Grooving Head, Combi-Line, Alu-Line and more. Flip through technical guides like Allied Machine's illustrated pocket reference for thread milling or look for speed and feed recommendations in the Recommended Cutting Data Guide.
The Solution Hub also provides access to six free online utilities. Users can locate the right tool for both standard and unique holemaking/finishing applications with the Product Selector and Boring Insert Selector utilities. They can design, assemble and save 2D drawings and 3D tool files with Wohlhaupter's Tool-Architect and Allied's ToolMD. Solution Hub includes Insta-Quote, which helps customers create their own custom tooling and generate a quote and drawing in minutes. Machine operators can also download the Insta-Code utility to generate, save and transfer thread mill G-code programs easily between machining centers. Solution Hub also has a link to download the Machinist Tool app. Currently, Solution Hub is available in English, French, German and Mexican Spanish.
