Prime Chuck Toolholder for Small Spaces
December 1, 2019
The Samchully prime chuck toolholder's compact design is engineered to minimize interference and allow for enhanced accessibility for tight spaces and deep machining features. "The slender design, achieved with a steep non-locking collet and lack of an external front collet nut, makes this a suitable alternative to shrink fit and hydraulic chucks. With increased clamping force and runout accuracy less than 3 microns (.0001 inch), the Prime Chuck is suitable for precision drilling, reaming and milling applications that result in better hole accuracy and machining performance," said a company spokesperson.
"Samchully's unique gear assembly design facilitates quick and safe set-up that helps shops achieve improved machine uptime and increased productivity," added the spokesperson. Precision collets are drawn from the rear leveraging a 90° bevel gear system that allows tightening from the side of the holder. Operators can easily exchange cutting tools ranging in size from .070" to .750" without a toolholder fixture.
Prime chucks are offered in BT, CAT, HSK and PSC (Polygon Shank Cone) tapers to address a range of machining center spindles and applications. The Prime chuck is a balanced system offering enhanced performance up to G2.5 at 30,000 RPM.
