Walter offers an array of digital resources to enable customers to quickly identify and order the precise tools they need for their machining applications. The company makes product data available through digital channels such as MachiningCloud, Tools United, Walter GPS, Walter Machining Calculator, Walter Xpress, Walter eLibrary and the e-catalog for TDM.
Customers can access more than 40,000 Walter tool elements on MachiningCloud. To aid users in the selection process, these are presented in virtually the same way as they are in the Walter catalog.
Walter also uses the Tools United platform. The platform provides NC programmers, buyers, tool and project managers and design engineers with product data based on their requirements in standardized formats and common export interfaces for tool management and CAM systems.
In addition, the Walter GPS machining navigation system provides another way of finding the right tool. It supplies tool and cutting data recommendations precisely adapted to the machining task at hand. While the Walter Machining Calculator supplies cutting data for milling, drilling and turning machining operations. And for special tool needs, Walter Xpress configures special tools using an interactive online form.
The Walter e-catalog for TDM has similar functions as MachiningCloud, such as product specification lists, 2D drawings, 3D models, photos and descriptions. It goes into even greater detail. With an average of 20 parameters, it contains all the information that is required by a CAD/CAM system. The e-catalog can also be linked to ERP software via TDM.
Walter also offers apps for various machining applications. These include apps for wear optimization, deciding on the ideal indexable insert, calculating starting values and for configuring special tools. The Walter eLibrary app provides access to all printed catalog and brochures in 17 languages.
