Founder of Crotts & Saunders Honored

The Association of Manufacturing Technology (AMT) honored Marcus B. Crotts of Crotts & Saunders Engineering, Inc., Winston-Salem, NC, with the 2016 Albert W. Moore Leadership Award at the annual meeting March 5, 2016 in Palm Desert, CA. This is the highest honor that the association awards.
Crotts and his business partner, Charles L. Saunders, founded Crotts & Saunders Engineering, Inc. in 1956. He retired in 2014.
Crotts is a native of Winston-Salem, NC. He served as International President of The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) in 2002 and the President of The American Machine Tool Distributors Association (AMTDA) in 1980-81. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, with a bachelor,Äôs degree in mechanical engineering in 1953. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering in 1955.
He was recognized by the North Carolina Society of Engineers as The Outstanding Engineer of the Year and was named The Outstanding Engineer by the University of Illinois and North Carolina State University. Crotts is a Fellow in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
