HFO Midwest Indiana Tech Center, co-located within Vincennes University's Gene Haas Training and Education Center in Lebanon, IN
HFO Midwest Indiana Tech Center will hold a grand opening event on Wednesday, April 13 from 10 AM to 6 PM. The following day, April 14, the same facility will host the seventh Midwest CNC Educators Regional Haas Technical Educational Center (HTEC) Conference from 8 AM to 4 PM.
HFO Midwest's Indiana Tech Center is located a few miles northwest of downtown Indianapolis and is co-located within Vincennes University's (VU) Gene Haas Training and Education Center, which opened December 2015. The Tech Center has floor space to display and demonstrate up to eight Haas CNC machine tools. In addition, there are 13 Haas machines on VU's shop floor. The 22,000 sq. ft. facility also features five classrooms, including a CNC simulator lab and metrology lab featuring Mitutoyo coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
"We are extremely proud of this new facility and the partnership we have put together with Vincennes University," stated Dave Tucker, President of HFO Midwest. "Local manufacturers will see the latest technology on display, as well as be able to meet and see the next generation of machinists being educated in a modern facility equipped with state-of-the-art machinery. This is truly unique and will go a long way towards helping address the needs of Indiana's manufacturing community."
During the grand opening event, attendees will view several live cutting demonstrations, many of which will be performed by students enrolled at VU. Technology highlights include the compact Haas DM-1 Mill/Drill center and the Haas UMC-750 5-axis Universal Machining Center. Attendees will also have an opportunity to meet with a full complement of tooling, accessories and software suppliers, who will be on hand with tabletop displays.
The following day, April 14, educators and manufacturers from throughout the Midwest are invited to attend the seventh Midwest CNC Educators Regional HTEC Conference. HTEC Conference attendees can take the opportunity to network, share and learn about the latest educational trends in manufacturing. A range of presentations will be made by key vendors supporting the HTEC network. Presentations will cover metalcutting technology, tooling technology and more. There will also be opportunities for instructors to participate in round-table discussions on NC curriculum updates.
"Manufacturers attending this event can not only select their next CNC machine, but also network with local schools to lay the foundation for hiring future CNC operators," said Tim Taylor, Sales Manager of HFO Midwest.
