Fiber Laser Introduced
April 1, 2016
Bystronic offers its BySmart Fiber 3015 compact laser-cutting machine. It is equipped with the ByVision control and features BySoft 7 software that is designed to provide a seamless integration into the manufacturing process chain.
"The BySmart Fiber's performance package focuses on the core competency of a fiber laser: laser-cutting parts in the most simple and cost-effective manner possible," said a company spokesperson.
"Available with Fiber 2000 or Fiber 3000 laser source, the BySmart Fiber can process a wide range of materials and thicknesses, from steel and stainless steel to aluminum and non-ferrous metals such as copper and brass," continued the spokesperson. "Moreover, the fiber laser optics' thin cutting beam enables extremely fine contours to be cut with enhanced cutting quality."
Operators control the cutting process on the BySmart Fiber using a 22" touchscreen. "ByVision accesses an extensive database that includes the parameters for all the common types of sheet metal," said the spokesperson. "It takes the material, sheet thickness and part geometry into account. While cutting, ByVision monitors all of the processes on the machine and provides the user with the most important process and machine data on-screen. Hence, the user always has an overview of all the relevant information: the current cutting plan, the position of the cutting head and the machine status."
