Coherix Inc. Appoints New Board Member

Coherix, Inc. has appointed James K. West as the newest member of its Board of Directors.
"An industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience, West is poised to help Coherix continue to expand the use of its technology solutions into sophisticated manufacturing processes," said a company spokesperson.
"We are pleased to have Jim join our board," said Dwight Carlson, CEO and Chairman of Coherix, Inc. "His experience in 3-D imaging, robotics and work within the automotive industry will be a source of insight into leveraging technology to improve manufacturing for global suppliers."
A holder of 11 patents, West attended the General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) where he earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering. He also was awarded a Master of Science in electrical engineering at the University of Illinois Coordinated Science Laboratory where he focused on machine vision, robotics and artificial intelligence. His professional life includes co-founding Perceptron, and serving as CTO at FARO Technologies, VP of Engineering at SMX and founder of the Technology Consulting Network. In addition, West is the founder and past president of The Machine Vision Association and former Director of both Robotics International and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).
