Cutting Wheel for Heavy-Duty Applications

Walter Surface Technologies' ZIP+ XTRA cutting wheel, which replaces the ZIP+, is designed to cut through steel or stainless steel in heavy-duty applications. It features a formulation of zirconium grains that are designed to be more durable against tough materials.

The ZIP+ XTRA features Walter's patented rib design engineered to reduce friction on the surface for faster and cooler cutting. It is 1/16" thick, which allows it to last longer.

The ZIP+ XTRA comes in Walter's exclusive protective packaging designed to preserve the wheel's physical properties until ready for use. The ZIP+ XTRA is available in 4-1/2" and 5" diameters.

"The product is called ZIP+ XTRA because we wanted to emphasize that this cutting wheel is extra safe, extra strong and extra tough," said Marc Brunet-Gagne, Product Manager at Walter Surface Technologies. "With this new formulation, we are able to produce a product that can cut through demanding cutting applications with ease and therefore reduce costs associated with wheel changeover, as well as costs related to the amount of wheels used throughout the year. In addition, the ZIP+XTRA produce less dust when compared to other competitive wheels, making this wheel a safer solution for workers and the work environment."
