NIMS Renews National Accreditation of Precision Machining Operations Program
April 1, 2016
Maintaining national industry standards inside the classroom is no easy task but the faculty and staff of Tri County Technology Center, Bartlesville, OK, recently rose to the challenge and officially renewed the national accreditation of the Precision Machining Operations Program.
"NIMS accreditation is the only national benchmark to recognize excellence in metalworking training as based on national industry-written, industry-approved standards. By securing this national award, the center demonstrates its continued commitment to providing industry-level training within the state of Oklahoma and for the greater U.S. Manufacturing Industry," said a NIMS spokesperson.
The Precision Machining Operations Program offers manual and CNC machining training and has provided students with the opportunity to earn NIMS certifications. Leading by example, Instructor James Cowart holds five NIMS credentials from the Machining Level I skill groups, including CNC programming certifications.
Reestablishing this industry award secures national accreditation for the next five years.
