Manufacturing Days Targets Students and Parents
April 6, 2016To encourage interest in manufacturing careers among the next generation, GF Machining Solutions will host Manufacturing Days at its U.S. headquarters in Lincolnshire, IL, on April 6-7.
The two-day event invites local area students and their parents to attend and learn more about manufacturing and how it impacts their daily lives. With an estimated two million manufacturing jobs expected to go unfilled over the next decade, GF Machining Solutions is committed to attracting new talent to the industry. At Manufacturing Days, students and their parents will tour the company’s front office, warehouse and demonstration center for a firsthand look at the diverse career opportunities available in manufacturing today.
“Following the tours, attendees are invited to join application engineers in the demonstration center for real-time demonstrations of various GF Machining Solutions manufacturing systems,” said a company spokesperson. “The company will showcase some of the industry’s most advanced technologies in automation, milling machines, electrical discharge machines (EDM) and laser texturing systems – all used in the production of components in the aerospace, automotive, medical and various other industries.”
Several local organizations and GF Machining Solutions customers will also be present to discuss opportunities for students to learn more about manufacturing, including apprenticeships and internship programs.
Students can register for this event at www.gfms.com/us/manufacturingday or by sending an email to info.gfms.us@georgefishers.com with the subject line “Manufacturing Day 2016.” Registration is open until March 31.
