New 5-Axis Solution Offers Fast Production

Expand Machinery has introduced the new GEN MILL 5X-8, which will be featured at IMTS 2024.
Expand Machinery reported that, beyond 5-axis features, the big advantage of 5-axis machining is the benefit of machining multiple sides in just one set-up and delivering more profit by:
- Using less labor by not transferring parts from machine to machine
- Achieving higher accuracy by machining more surfaces in one set-up
- Eliminating the building of fixtures for unneeded operations
- Reducing the work in-process and improving part flow
- Providing more accurate delivery schedule control.
The GEN MILL 5X-8 5-axis machine offered by Expand Machinery features an 8.3" table and a 15 HP, 12,000 RPM spindle. It is equipped with a 30-tool twin-arm tool changer, glass scale feedback in all 5 axes, 1,417 IPM rapid rates in X and Y axis for fast production, 300 PSI through-the-spindle coolant system with rotary coupling, Renishaw radio probe package along with many other standard features.
