Sockets to Extend the Life of Retention Knobs

T.J. Davies Co., Inc. has introduced sockets that aid in the proper installation of its retention knobs, thus extending their service life.

"Using a socket and a torque wrench allows the user to achieve the ideal tightness without rounding the corners of the retention knob," said a company spokesperson.

These sockets are made from American-made AISI 4140 steel that is then machined in-house. Each socket is heat treated to 54-56 HRC and coated using a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. All socket surfaces have a precision ground finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N.

Four different sizes are available, to cover the full line of retention knobs manufactured by T.J. Davies. Sockets are available individually or as a complete set. Full sets are shipped in a convenient holder to store them when not in use. All sockets and retention knobs are manufactured to exact specifications that exceed industry standard.
