Machine Large Workpieces in a Small Footprint
August 1, 2020
Campro USA, the U.S. office of Campro Precision Machinery, a Taiwanese builder of high precision CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers, bridge mills and turning centers, has introduced the NU550 5-axis machining center, part of Campro's second generation of 5-axis machines.
"The unique bridge design allows a much larger workpiece to be machined in a much smaller footprint as well as being much more rigid than a standard C-frame design," said a company spokesperson.
The one-piece Monobloc column and base structure provides rigid, stable machining performance. The machine features heavy-duty roller guideways for smooth transitions during high speed, small movements. "The machine also utilizes a state-of-the-art trunnion table for enhanced machining accuracies. Those design features, combined with the direct drive 12,000 RPM BIG PLUS spindle, allow shops to produce high accuracy parts with excellent finishes," said the spokesperson.
The machine can also be part of a manufacturing cell using automatic loading, machine transfer robotics or AGV transfers.
