Gates Engineered Lubricants, member of the Precision Machined Products Association (PMPA), has announced the launch of its new Aladdin Duo dual purpose fluid. "The product eliminates the need for multiple oils in a metalcutting machine, reducing cost and increasing efficiency," said a company spokesperson.
According to Gates, a common challenge in metalcutting machines occurs when hydraulic fluid enters the cutting fluid reservoir, diluting the metalworking chemistry and reducing the efficiency of each cutting tool.

"Aladdin Duo's metalworking test results have proven performance, surpassing traditional chlorinated, fatty, active sulfur-containing products," said the spokesperson. "Aladdin Duo is suitable for multi-metal shops, with proven performance on brass, carbon steel, stainless steel and exotics such as titanium and Monel. Similarly, separate hydraulic test results indicate Aladdin Duo can meet all hydraulic specifications to pass OEM approvals."
