Laguna Tools Acquires Dake Corporation

Laguna Tools, Inc., a manufacturer of innovative automated machinery in the metalworking, woodworking and signage industries, has completed the acquisition of Dake Corporation from its parent company JSJ Corporation.

Dake Corporation is a metalworking company specializing in presses, bandsaws and other machine tools. "In line with Laguna Tools' growth strategy, the acquisition of Dake Corporation will provide Laguna with a solid and diverse platform for the continued development of its metalworking line of products and offerings," said a spokesperson.

Laguna Tools' CEO Stephen Stoppenbrink commented, "The acquisition of Dake Corporation will build upon Laguna's presence and market share in the metalworking space. Dake Corporation has skillfully built its brand, and by combining forces we will take it to the next level. We continue to be impressed by the dedication, loyalty and skill across the board with the Dake team - we are excited and eager to see what we will all accomplish together."

"We intend to preserve and build upon the DNA that has made Dake Corporation successful in its industry," stated Brian Rosenberger, COO at Laguna Tools. Rosenberger also stated, "A company like Dake Corporation that has been in business for well over 130 years knows a thing or two about longevity; we will be looking to leverage that knowledge."

Torben Holshoj, Founder and President of Laguna Tools, Inc., said, "We welcome the Dake team, its products, and heritage to the Laguna family, and are excited about the future. The addition of Dake Corporation will instantaneously further Laguna's presence in the metalworking world."

Dake Corporation is the 2nd acquisition for Laguna in the past two years. In September 2017, Laguna Tools acquired SuperMax, a manufacturer and distributor of sanding/finishing equipment for the woodworking and metalworking industries, successfully growing it multiple times over.

Laguna Tools, Inc. currently occupies two main facilities in Irvine, CA, (headquarters), West Columbia, SC, and will be expanding its operations into a third facility in Dallas, TX, scheduled to open this year. Laguna also has a location in Minnesota, and now Michigan with the acquisition of Dake Corporation.
