Integrated Cobot Solutions

Universal Robots have been seamlessly integrated to the Hurco CNC with a collaborative auto door, grippers and pneumatic vises.

With more than 60 collaborative robot (cobot) arms from Universal Robots (UR) on display throughout the show floor, IMTS 2024 will be the latest showcase of the rapidly expanding UR ecosystem.

UR's OEM, UR+ and Certified System Integrator partners will all be exhibiting a wide range of UR cobot-powered applications at the show. At UR's own booth N-236131, the following interactive demos will be on display:

  • NVIDIA Isaac ROS-based perception capabilities integrated into UR's new platform PolyScope X for easy-to-train infeed picking for machine tending.
  • Brinkman Automation's "The Finisher"-an automated modular deburring, polishing and cleaning cell powered by a UR5e cobot. The turn-key cell offers high precision finishing in a modular design with quick and easy changeover for multiple parts. An integrated cleaning system eliminates the need for a subsequent cleaning operation.
  • Hurco's VM15Di 3-axis CNC machine featuring tending by a UR20 cobot, UR's longest reach cobot with a reach of 68.9" and a payload of 44.1 lbs. The cobot machine tending system is seamlessly integrated to the Hurco CNC with a collaborative auto door, grippers and pneumatic vises. Attendees can experience how easy it is to set up any job using Hurco's Automation Job Manager software in under 5 minutes with zero programming and no automation experience.
  • Laser Marking Technologies' Fusion XL laser marking custom UR branded luggage tags with individual attendees' names.
  • Lights Out Manufacturing's Aries 10 part feeder application featuring a UR30 cobot that allows for lightning-fast part changeovers, making it suited for any shop that requires a wide range of parts.
  • Vectis Automation's Park'N'Arc range extender for welding applications featuring the UR20 cobot. Vectis will also be showing some of its latest user experience and ease-of-use cobot welding features, QuickTeach and AI Path Optimization, on some of its proprietary deployment styles. QuickTeach makes the easy Vectis system easier to use by allowing the cobot champion to teach points and optimize paths right at the torch. AI Path Optimization enables operators of all skill levels to teach consistent high-quality welds.
  • The UR+ ecosystem featuring UR+ partners Zimmer's standardized interface SICK's End-of-Arm Safeguard, and Impaqt Robotics' pneumagiQ, a universal pneumatic gripper interface that can plug and play two pneumatic grippers from any brand gripper to UR cobots.

Hirebotics' Cobot Welder integrated with Miller's Auto DeltaWeld, an advanced welder for cobot welding applications. Hirebotics will also showcase its programming platform Beacon that now features Fine Tune, allowing customers to easily adjust the robot's torch angles, and Enhanced Stitch Weld, a new capability enabling the re-sequencing of stitch patterns, stitch through radial welds and more.
