Grinding and Hard Turning Solutions

Danobat Inc. will demonstrate its grinding and hard turning machines at IMTS. Danobat's grinding and hard turning machines are high-precision, custom-engineered solutions suited for various industries, including automotive, mold & die, bearings and hydraulics.

To offer something new this year, Danobat will hard turn, upon request, a tungsten carbide part with its Hembrug Mikroturn.

"The demonstration will showcase the form and accuracy of the Hembrug machines," said a company spokesperson. "Attendees will also learn about the Mikroturn's versatility in the types of parts it can handle and its efficiency with its high material removal rates and quick and easy set-ups and changeovers."

Additionally, Danobat is partnering with Taylor Hobson, an Ametek company that produces roundness and surface finish measuring instruments, to measure individual parts with its TR500 series measuring system. The individual parts, along with a report showing the achieved measurements, will be something visitors can take home to check tolerances independently if required.

Showcasing its high-volume machining capabilities, Danobat is bringing its LG and CG OD/ID grinding machines. With wheel speeds up to 23,600 SFPM, the LG can take on production challenges for small to medium-sized components (7.9" to 39.4" distance between centers) with CBN, diamond and conventional abrasives, singularly or in combination. The CG combines productivity and versatility, accommodating grinding wheels up to 24" in diameter and running at speeds up to 15,750 SFPM.

Overbeck IRD will be on display. This well-rounded machine can handle ID, OD, radius and nonround grinding applications. It also offers versatility by having up to four grinding spindles and a measuring probe on its direct drive turret. The IRD is also suited for various materials, such as carbide, steel or ceramic. While the machine is a stalwart in the U.S. canning industry, it has additional applications in healthcare, bearing, mold and die and beyond.

Danobat's team, including sales and application engineering, will be on hand to demonstrate and discuss the whole expanse of Danobat's state-of-the-art technology, which machines can help solve visitors' most pressing production problems and advise on improving their grinding and hard turning processes. For those who cannot make it to IMTS this year, all four machines will be available in the Rolling Meadows, IL, technical center for machine demonstrations or application development.
