GWS Tool Group Announces New Hires

GWS Tool Group has announced new hires.

Walter Lopez has filled a position of Application Specialist at GWS Tool Group. In this role, Lopez will be responsible for supporting GWS distributors and key metalworking customers in the application of GWS high-performance cutting tool solutions. Cutting tools from GWS include both standard and purpose-built tooling, such as end mills, form tools, step tools, drills, reamers, taps, PCD tipped tooling along with countless variations of special turning inserts.

For over 27 years Lopez has been applying his knowledge at the spindle, helping to optimize production requirements for customers. He started his career in southern California as a CNC set-up operator for CNC mills and lathes, and then moved into CAM software programming in tandem with performing duties as a cutting tool applications specialist.

"Walter's extensive metalworking and process improvement experience is an ideal fit for our organization," said Scott Tiehen, Director of Sales-West. "He will immediately add value to our customers with his aerospace background and experience working with key channel partners and end users."

At GWS Lopez will be responsible for business development and application support for channel partners and end users in north and south California along with northern Mexico.

Bryan Comyns has filled a position of Business Development Specialist at GWS Tool Group. In this role, Comyns will be responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, identifying ways to promote and maintain brand relevance in the face of competition. He will also be working in tandem with the local application specialists helping to generate new business opportunities along with understanding and adjusting for regional customer needs/trends.

"For over 14 years, Bryan has been applying his project management expertise in developing winning sales and business strategies," said a company spokesperson. "Starting with a successful run developing his own automotive business, which included parts development and project vehicle design, he went on to gain experience with some of the top channel partners in the cutting tool business and initiated successful sales strategies increasing market share through process development and improved customer relationships."
