Portable Second-Op Machining Center
April 1, 2014
TRAK 2OP portable machining centers are designed for second-operation machining. "Portable machining centers streamline a shop's workflow by bringing an additional spindle quickly and easily to an operator idled by the cycle time of his primary machine. The TRAK 2OP features ProtoTRAK CNC technology with easy-to-learn and use conversational language programming," said a company spokesperson.
Programs can be generated either at the machine or remotely to perform tasks normally associated with second-operation machining, including drilling, tapping, countersinking, face-milling and the machining of profiles, pockets and bolt-hole patterns. Standard features include an eight-station tool changer that eliminates the need for manual tool changes, "built-in" Jergens ball locks that facilitate quick changeovers, rigid tapping, a coolant pump and a pallet jack.
