Mitsubishi Laser has introduced the new RX series, designed to give operators the capability to cut large pieces, without carrying a heavy price tag. The new ML4020 RX laser is built to handle a maximum workpiece size of 13' by 6.5' (4 m x 2 m). Resonators are available in 45 and 60CF-R.
"Besides sheer size, the evolution of Mitsubishi's jetpiece technology is also evident in the RX. For instance, Blow Pierce can drastically change piercing times in mild steel - some studies have shown a reduction up to 80 percent. FAB control is another new feature that expands the focal range of the beam, and allows more stability across the cutting area. And new M-Cut technology, also called Motion Cut, affords the ability to move through thin materials at greater speeds," said a company spokesperson.
To keep operating cost low, ECO Mode reduces electrical consumption, while resonator cleanliness puts less stress on optical parts and elongates optical life. According to a Mitsubishi spokesperson, "Mitsubishi's patented resonators are still the most economical in the marketplace, and may reduce assist gas consumption by up to 30 percent."
Simple true nesting allows for quick, onsite response times, and a double cut function allows high quality cutting of protected sheet metal. Meanwhile, offcut cutting function easily cuts off remnants from the nested sheet, giving a higher material yield rate.
"The RX joins existing 4 M x 2 M machines like the NX in the most diverse product line that Mitsubishi Laser has ever offered. This expanded offering represents an inclusive, company-wide stance that intends to cover the full breadth of potential laser-cutting markets, from entry level to the most advanced, automated machines," said the spokesperson.
