8-Axis CNC Tool and Cutter Grinder

Unison Corporation will be demonstrating one of its Model 9000 Series 8-Axis CNC tool and cutter grinders at IMTS 2016. The Model 9000 Series of grinders features a 27 HP (20 kW) direct drive grinding spindle which can manufacture precise medical tools and components as well as drills, endmills and reamers used in the aerospace industry. These grinders are equipped with Yaskawa AC Drive Amplifiers as well as an Automatic Pick-n-Place Parts Loader/Unloader for continuous grinding of parts. The 9000 Series uses a precise probe assembly to help guarantee repeatability of parts and can be equipped with an on-board electric wheel dressing system.
The Model 9000 Series features Unison's EZ Software allowing the machine's operator to customize and/or modify tool geometry by filling in blanks and then verifying the part program by using the machine's real-time 3-D Parts Predictor. Each machine is supplied with a complete software package and library of tool programs at no additional charge. The computer control monitors critical machine functions and alerts the operator to issues encountered during grinding, and errors are tracked and logged within the control to help identify problems. The 9000 Series can be networked and/or monitored via the internet and can be equipped with a Remote Connect feature allowing direct communication with Unison.
