Horizontal Boring, Milling Machines and Machining Centers

DiPaolo Machine Tools will feature Juaristi horizontal boring and milling machines and machining centers. DiPaolo Machine Tools is the exclusive importer of Juaristi products in United States and Canada, responsible for sales, installation, service, spare parts and technical support.

TX Series

The TX series of T-type horizontal boring mills features a boring spindle diameter of 4.3", 5.1", 5.9" or 7.1", X-axis travels of 78.7" - 236", vertical travels (Y-axis) of 59.1" - 157.5", column travels (Z-axis) of 59.1" - 118.1" and spindle travels (W-axis) of 23.6", 31.5", 39,4", depending on the spindle diameter. The machine can be equipped with a rotary table of 39.4" x 47.2" up to 137.8" x 137.8" with a load capacity of 8 - 60 metric tons or with an automatic pallet changer. Spindle power is 50 - 94 HP continuously, and the spindle speed for a 5.1" boring spindle is 3,500 (4,000 RPM). Rapid feedrate is 1,181 IPM.

The machine can be equipped with a 5-axis twist type continuous head with 6,000 - 18,000 RPM; universal milling head with 1 x 1 or 0.001 x 0.001 degree increment, facing head and other attachments, manually or automatically changeable.

Symmetrical column and headstock, four vertical guideways (two for TX1), hydrostatic table bearing and usage of high grade cast iron for all structural components provide enhanced thermal and mechanical accuracy, rigidity and cutting efficiency.

Th Series

The Th series features X-axis travels of 78.7" - 157.5" and Y-axis and Z-axis travels of 59.1" - 98.4".

The machining center can be equipped with a 5-axis twist type continuous head with 6,000 -12,000 RPM and more; universal milling head with 1 x 1 or 0.001 x 0.001 degree increment, 6,000 RPM; a boring spindle diameter of 5.1" or 5.9", or a horizontal fixed spindle. It can have two to four or more pallets of 57" x 63" or 78.7" x 98.4", with a load capacity off 12 tons.

Linear guideways allow for enhanced dynamics and productivity such as a rapid feedrate of 1,575 IPM and acceleration of 3 m/s2. A symmetrical column and headstock, four vertical guideways and hydrostatic table bearings provide rigidity and thermal and mechanical accuracy. A chain type ATC with up to 160 tools with short change time (6 or 12 sec) or a robotized matrix type ATC with up to 400 tools is available.

Its wraparound design, integrating the enclosure with bed and chip conveyors, allows complete collection of chips and coolant without polluting the shop floor. The enclosure includes automatic doors for loading/unloading of pallets and roof and workpiece washing with coolant jets. Air, oil mist and fume aspiration systems may also be installed to maintain a clean environment and good visibility. The Th series is built for the aerospace and die and mold industries.

MX and ML Series

The MX and ML series of floor type boring and milling machines have linear guideways and feature X-axis travels up to 131', vertical travels up to 275.6", Z-axis travels up to 74.8" and spindle power up to 95 HP. MX RAM and ML RAM have a boring spindle up to 7.1" and Z+W travels up to 114.2".

They can be equipped with rotary tables from 20 to 150 tons and automatic tool changers.

MX has spindle speeds up to 6,000 RPM and power up to 95.1 HP. The machines can be equipped with automatically or manually changeable attachments, including angular, 5-axis, indexing or facing heads.

A new model ML3 (ML3 RAM) can be used as a multitasking machine for milling, boring and turning. It can be equipped with a turning table from 62.9" - 98.4" diameter and a load capacity of 6 or 12 tons.

MP RAM Series

The MP RAM Series of floor type hydrostatic boring mills are engineered for heavy machining jobs and provide enhanced accuracy and productivity. They feature X-axis travels up to 131', vertical travels up to 393.7", Z+W travels up to 133.8", spindle power up to 167 HP and torque up to 15,490 ft-lbs., with boring bars up to 9.8" diameter.

All structural components are high grade cast iron. All guideways are hydrostatic, which results in smooth precise movements, cutting efficiency and long machine life.

Three simultaneously acting compensation systems help to guarantee the column verticality, headstock horizontality and ram straightness.

"Machining with large facing cutters, powerful boring operations and deep drilling cuts is easily performed because of the enhanced torque and power of these machines. In combination with Juaristi rotary tables as big as 196.8" x 236.2", 150 tons, large and heavy workpieces can be precisely machined in one set-up," said a company spokesperson.

A range of attachments is available, including automatically changeable heads (facing heads up to 78.7"; recessing tools; universal automatic heads with 1 or 0.001 degree increment; 5-axis heads and more).

A chain type ATC up to 160 tools and a robotized matrix type ATC up to 500 tools are available.
