Wide Variety of Machine Tools

The VM 9 combines turning, milling and drilling into a single machine for large part production.

The VT 2-4 performs dual-sided shaft machining in high-production mode.

VL 4 modular vertical lathe

EMAG will present its extensive and fast-growing family of turning centers, gear generation machines, grinding, milling, vertical turning and boring equipment, plus advanced electro-chemical and laser welding machines, as well as heat treatment. A variety of machines will be on display in the booth running under power, plus experts in all the various technologies offered will be available for discussions.

The VL 4 is a modular vertical lathe with integrated automation and a small footprint designed for maximum production at low cost per piece. A pick-up spindle moves in the X- and Z-axis with 12 driven tools on a turret to cut and index parts up to 200 mm (7.87") in the shortest time possible. The pass-through rotary conveyor keeps blanks incoming and machined parts outgoing. Machines can be equipped with a Y-axis for more complex geometries.

The VM 9 combines turning, milling and drilling into a single machine for large part production. With the workpiece spindle in the bottom of the cutting area, the VM 9 offers a turning diameter of 450 mm (17.71"), maximum workpiece height of 300 mm (11.81") and maximum workpiece weight to 300 kg (660 lbs.).

The VT 2-4 performs dual-sided shaft machining in high-production mode with dual 11-position tool turrets for fixed or driven tools. It accommodates workpieces up to 200 mm in diameter (7.87") and 630 mm in length (24.80").

The eldec MIND-M 250, provided by the eldec group of EMAG, is a compact hardening system for basic heat treatment of chucked parts and shafts. Heat treatment tasks are performed at 30 kW in high frequency applications and 100 kW in medium frequency. It accommodates workpieces weighing up to 10 kg (22 lbs.).

The EMAG booth will also feature a blisk (bladed disk) display to demonstrate the precision electro-chemical machining (PECM) technology now offered to the aerospace, pump and power generation markets.

In-depth technical videos will be shown at the booth to present some of the other technologies available at EMAG, including laser welding technology.
