Vibration Analysis and Accelerometer Technology

GTI Spindle Technology, in partnership with GTI Predictive Technology, will feature a new on-site vibration analysis service that is designed to provide increased uptime and reliability for customers' facilities. In addition, GTI will feature its recently released explosion-proof Bluetooth accelerometer for iPad.

The new vibration analysis service brings GTI's VibePro vibration analysis technology to any facility. Quarterly routes are performed by GTI technicians and include full reports to help decision makers schedule repairs, preventing unexpected downtime. Reports are generated using GTI's proprietary algorithms. A special dashboard is generated, warning decision makers of assets that are not yet problems, but quickly degrading. VibeProPulse algorithms enhance reports by including smart fault detection for failing bearings, misalignment, bent shafts, rotor bars, cocked bearings, looseness, imbalance, loose bearing fits, bearing preload, tooling problems, damaged gears, shaft damage and other faults.

Accelerometer

The VibePro EX app builds on the foundation of VibePro. The sensor is a smart sensor with its own CPU, allowing VibePro EX to change the sensitivity of the sensor as needed. Users can change the capture sensitivity to (in mV/g) 50, 100, 250, 500, 1,000, 2,500 or 5,000.

An internal battery powers the accelerometer for up to five years. The sensor utilizes instant in-app pairing for fast connection to the sensor. It is as easy as turning on the sensor and opening the VibePro-EX app to capture vibration readings.

Featured in this version of VibePro is a single capture to simultaneously gather time waveform data, acceleration and velocity spectrums (with displacement available on the web application). The iPad app includes additional post-processing tools like demodulation, windowing and filters.
