Celebrating 50 years of innovation this year, Sodick continues to innovate with the AX350L wire EDM, an advanced, oil-based system engineered for extreme micromachining, reliability, and long-term performance.
Designed for ultra-fine machining applications, the AX350L utilizes dielectric oil to create a small discharge gap, enabling enhanced surface finishes and micron-level accuracy. Paired with Sodick's iGroove+ wire rotation technology that enhances surface quality while reducing wire consumption by up to 30%, the AX350L offers enahnced surface roughness with lowered operating costs, making it suited for high-precision applications and complex components.
At the core of the AX350L are Sodick's patented rigid linear motors, offering high-speed, backlash-free motion with zero mechanical contact.
"This ensures consistent accuracy and repeatability over time, backed by a 10-year positioning accuracy guarantee," said a company spokesperson.
Engineered for stability, the machine incorporates a temperature-stable structure and thermal displacement correction system, maintaining precision throughout extended machining cycles. Combined with automated wire threading, oil submersion, and corrosion prevention, the AX350L supports fully unattended lights-out operation.
"The AX350L makes its debut at IMTS 2026, where visitors to the Sodick booth will experience firsthand how this next-generation Wire EDM redefines micromachining, setting a new benchmark for precision, productivity, and process reliability in even the most demanding manufacturing applications," said the spokesperson.
