Machining Innovation Takes Center Stage

At IMTS 2026, three leading European machine tool builders-MODIG, IBARMIA, and LiCON-will unite alongside Seco Tools, offering visitors a comprehensive view of machining expertise across multiple applications and industries. By bringing together complementary technologies, from high-speed aluminum machining to complex multiprocess solutions and high-volume production systems, they offer a portfolio built to address the real challenges of modern manufacturing.

Visitors to booth 338336 will experience live machining demonstrations throughout the show, providing a direct look at how advanced machine tools perform under production-like conditions. These live demonstrations offer insight into process stability, efficiency, and achievable performance levels.

MODIG will highlight its Mill-Ex2, a high-productivity multispindle machining solution specifically developed for aluminum components. Designed with aerospace applications and extrusion machining in mind, the machine offers high dynamics and efficient material removal in a compact footprint. Its dual spindle configuration, combined with individually driven axes, enables continuous machining with precise control and flexibility. The result is stable performance, optimized throughput, and a competitive cost per part-key factors for manufacturers working with complex aluminum structures where speed and accuracy are critical, the company reported.

IBARMIA will present the THR 16P MULTIPROCESS machining center, engineered for large, high-value components that require power and adaptability. Designed to integrate milling, turning, and drilling within a single set-up, the system helps maximize versatility and minimize set-up time. With a large working envelope, high load capacity, and a heavy-duty palletized rotary table, the THR 16P is built to handle challenging applications. Capable of achieving spindle speeds up to 12,000 RPM and supported by a 120-tool magazine, the machine offers strong performance across a wide range of operations. Its design prioritizes reliability and uptime, making it a solution for manufacturers managing complex parts and variable production needs.

LiCON completes the joint exhibit with its LiFLEX II platform, designed for high-volume production environments where precision and repeatability are essential. The twin-spindle machining center features an integrated pallet changer, enabling efficient, continuous operation. At the core of the machine is LiCON's advanced i3 technology, which enables maximum machining quality through independent compensation of both spindles across all three axes. Integrated sensors and intelligent algorithms actively counteract thermal influences, maintaining high positioning accuracy and stable performance. According to the company, the result is a machining platform capable of delivering consistent output and reliable precision in demanding production environments.

A key element of the IMTS presentation is the collaboration with Seco. By combining end-to-end solution strategy and cutting tool expertise of Seco with high-performance machining platforms engineered for speed and efficiency, the partnership aims to offer a powerful, integrated approach to manufacturing.
