Milltronics Showcases 5-Axis Machining

The Milltronics VM250IL-5X is designed to provide efficient and reliable machining of complex parts.

Milltronics will be demonstrating its VM250IL-5X 5-axis VMC at IMTS 2026. Optimized for efficient production of complex part geometries, the machine pairs responsive 5-axis machining with an in-line spindle and the INSPIRE+ control. Attendees will find the machine on display in booth 338319 at the show.

Designed to machine challenging part features, the VM250IL-5X incorporates a rotary table with +30°/-110° of rotation in the A-axis and a 360° C-axis. An in-line BIG-PLUS 40-taper spindle offers a maximum speed of 15,000 RPM, 14.8 HP, and 35.3 ft.-lbs. of torque, allowing for high metal removal rates and enhanced surface finishes.

As the largest in Milltronics' family of 5-axis machining centers, the VM250IL-5X provides a 9.8" (250 mm) table with a 24" maximum spindle-nose-to-table distance. To enable high part quality, the machine makes use of a rigid design with widely spaced linear roller guideways to support the table and saddle. The guideways span the full travel length of each axis.

The machine integrates the INSPIRE+ CNC control platform that includes a proprietary advanced motion engine to optimize machine movement. INSPIRE+ features the latest evolution of Milltronics' conversational programming platform, while also enabling programming via G- and M-code. A 19" color touchscreen offers a user-friendly interface, while a range of canned cycles and automatic routines simplify and streamline operation.
