Advanced Grinding Solutions, High-Performance Abrasive Technologies

Top row (l-r): Quantum Prime Grinding Wheels and Vitron7 Vitrified cBN Wheels

Bottom row (l-r): Paradigm Wheel and Gear Grinding Wheel with VS3PN Bond Technology

Saint-Gobain Abrasives will showcase a broad range of advanced abrasive grinding technologies and high-performance solutions at IMTS booth 237042.

Among the technologies highlighted will be Norton gear grinding wheels featuring advanced VS3PN bond technology engineered to deliver exceptional profile retention, burn-free grinding and improved part quality in demanding gear manufacturing applications. Designed for today's high-efficiency gear grinding environments, the wheels offer increased form holding and consistent performance in worm, profile and bevel gear grinding operations where tight tolerances and productivity are critical.

Norton will also feature Paradigm Diamond Wheels for aerospace grinding applications. Designed specifically for grinding difficult-to-machine aerospace materials, the wheels combine advanced abrasive grain technology with a highly engineered bond system to deliver improved material removal rates, longer wheel life, and better part quality. The technology is suited for turbine blades, aerospace engine components, and other hard-to-grind materials commonly used throughout the aerospace industry.

Also being highlighted at IMTS are Norton Paradigm Plus Diamond Wheels for round tool grinding. Featuring premium grain technology combined with a brittle metal bond system, Paradigm Plus wheels provide high grinding efficiency, reduced grinding forces, and improved wheel life for carbide round tool manufacturing applications, the company reported. The wheels are designed to help manufacturers achieve higher material removal rates and greater process consistency while maintaining precise tool geometries and surface finishes.

For high-performance external and internal grinding applications, Norton Vitron7 vitrified cBN grinding wheels will also be showcased. Featuring a high-precision vitrified bond system, Vitron7 wheels offer improved wheel life, thermal stability, and consistent grinding performance in demanding automotive, bearing and precision grinding operations. The technology is particularly suited for applications involving camshafts, crankshafts, and other hardened steel components requiring high levels of dimensional accuracy and productivity.

In addition, Norton Quantum Prime grinding wheels will be featured at the show. Utilizing proprietary nano-crystalline ceramic grain technology, Quantum Prime wheels offer improved grinding efficiency and part quality with longer wheel life compared with traditional ceramic abrasives, according to the company. Designed for a broad range of grinding applications, the wheels help manufacturers increase productivity while reducing overall grinding costs across a variety of industries and operations.
