GROB G550 5-axis universal machining center
GROB Systems will demonstrate advanced 5-axis machining technologies at IMTS. GROB machines will be featured in two separate booths at McCormick Place: booth 236637 (LANG Technik USA booth) in the Automation Sector, North Building, and booth 431400 (YG-1 Tool Co. booth) in the Tooling & Workholding Sector, West Building.
"GROB machining centers, which are compatible with Industry 4.0 principles, are manufactured in the USA at the company's full production facility in Bluffton, OH, and are engineered to deliver high productivity, precision and flexibility," said a company spokesperson. "Featuring a unique machine design with a horizontal spindle position, GROB machining centers provide optimum chip fall, long Z-travel paths, and outstanding accessibility to the workpiece."
Booth 236637 (LANG Technik USA Booth)
The GROB G150 5-Axis Universal Machining Center will be showcased integrated with LANG Technik USA Robotrex automation system. During the show, the compact and highly dynamic machining center will produce an American Flag Belt Buckle in live demonstrations throughout each day.
Designed for high-precision machining of complex components in a compact footprint, the G150 features direct and absolute position encoders in all axes along with an innovative machine cooling concept that offers enhanced contouring accuracy and thermal stability. The machine's compact design and advanced kinematics make it suited for precision manufacturing environments requiring maximum flexibility and performance.
The integration with LANG's Robotrex automation solution highlights the growing demand for scalable and efficient automated manufacturing systems. Together, the technologies demonstrate how manufacturers can increase spindle uptime, improve workflow efficiency, and support unattended operation in high-mix production environments.
Booth 431400 (YG-1 Tool Co. Booth)
The GROB G550 5-Axis Universal Machining Center will be under power in the YG-1 Tool Co. booth machining a demonstration part live during IMTS 2026.
Engineered for highly flexible universal machining, the G550 offers stability, precision and accessibility for complex 5-axis applications. The machine features a large work envelope, swivel rotary table technology, and simultaneous 5-axis machining capabilities that allow manufacturers to produce demanding parts with accuracy and efficiency.
The G550's machine concept includes a horizontally positioned spindle that enables enhanced chip evacuation and visibility into the work area. Combined with high dynamic performance and rigid machine construction, the G550 is designed to support a wide range of industries, including aerospace, defense, automotive, and semi-conductor.
Multiple live machining demonstrations will be conducted throughout the show in both booths.
