Deburr, Texture, Clean Small and Intricate Parts
April 1, 2023
Comco, Inc., a manufacturer of MicroBlasting technology, will exhibit in booth 5547 at EASTEC.
"The micro scale, consistent feed and pinpoint accuracy of Comco's micro-precision sandblasting systems are ideal for deburring intricate geometries, texturing to a sharp delineation and removing thin coatings and films-all without causing dimensional changes to the underlying part," said a company spokesperson.
MicroBlasting, or sandblasting on a micro scale, uses small nozzles and a mixture of compressed dry air and abrasives to alter surface finishes and remove unwanted material. MicroBlasting best suits parts as small as a grain of rice to as large as a basketball. Depending on part surface, it can be used to texture to 0.007" delineation, create a surface finish with a specific Ra or deburr the ID of a 25 µ capillary tip.
"This versatile process is used across manufacturing to refine small precision parts that must meet strict industry standards," said the spokesperson. "With a simple adjustment of blast pressure, abrasive type or nozzle design, a Comco blaster easily adapts from a tool that deburrs the heel of a stainless steel needle to a tool that textures a mold cavity."
Visitors to booth 5547 can try Comco's newest MicroBlaster, the AccuFlo and its companion, the ProCenter Plus. "This powerful blaster processes parts fast and delivers consistent and repeatable results," said the spokesperson. The ProCenter Plus is a combination workstation and dust collection system housed in a single free-standing and mobile unit. It features HEPA filtration and a well-lit comfortable workspace. Together, this pair forms a turn-key solution that suits most manual applications.
