The Reamax TS modular reaming system from CERATIZIT USA Inc. is engineered to provide fast, easy and precise tool change capability. Incorporating a uniform holder system and standardized interface, the Reamax TS system offers increased flexibility and efficiency for all KOMET reaming heads.
For added modularity, the system encompasses a versatile and clearly structured reaming head program that covers all common diameter ranges and requirements. This helps to reduce tool costs and keep logistics expenditures to a minimum. Additionally, tool changing is easier, and the system's modular concept minimizes handling, thus extending machine uptime.
"The system's precise interface guarantees the safe transfer of torque generated during reaming and the radial run-out accuracy needed for fine surface finishes," said a company spokesperson. Radial clamping allows users to change the reaming tools without having to remove the holder from the adapter, thereby reducing the set-up times.
The Reamax TS enables users to achieve enhanced process security, and its multicutting edge tools are adjustable for wear compensation and to achieve the smallest tolerances from IT4 onwards. Plus, maximum repeatability is achieved without having to preset the tool.
Reamax TS is designed for high-speed machining, applies to all common workpiece materials and works for through and blind hole applications. Tight bore tolerances are achieved with the system, even at hole depths up to 5xD, machining speeds to 500 m/min and feedrates up to 2.4 mm/rev.
To adapt to various applications, the Reamax TS offers several cutting edge geometries, straight or left helix chip flows, lateral or central coolant exits and adjustable reaming heads. Through-tool coolant is supplied via radial or central ducts.
