The Eagle V5 from MC Machinery Systems is built for both rigidity and precision versatility. The gantry-type vertical machining center (VMC) employs a U-shape polymer concreate base with B-axis support and a high-quality rotary table C-axis.
The Eagle V5 is capable of performing high-precision cuts with the X, Y, Z, B and C axes moving simultaneously, and is able to achieve volumetric accuracies within 0.0004" when installed in a stable environment. The integrated 4/5-axis system allows X, Y and Z travels of 21.6", 15.7" and 15.7", respectively. Inclined surface machining, spiral contour machining, irregular contour machining and other complex cutting tasks can be made simple.
The Eagle V5's 15.75" table has a capacity of 550 lbs. The machine is also built with an HSK-E40, 42,000-RPM, integrated spindle and heavy-duty, roller-type linear motion ways on the X, Y and Z-axes. A HEIDENHAIN TNC-640 control uses a 15.1" color display using 32 GB SSDR. This allows for extensive program look-ahead (5000 blocks) and 0.5 ms block processing time (120,000 BPM). The control is mounted on a moveable pedestal for convenient operator positioning.
Other standard features include a 32-position automatic tool changer, Renishaw infrared measuring probe and Blum laser system. Some popular options are the 100-position automatic tool changer, table clamping and pallet systems, a chip conveyor for dry milling and T-slot table to cover the 4/5 axis.
Also available is an internal coolant-supply version of the Eagle V5 with 580 PSI delivery, comes with a two-axis direct-drive rotary table and 36,000 RPM, HSK 50 spindle. The graphite version is equipped with an exhaust system for graphite and mist collection as well as oil mist suction and a 42,000 RPM, HSK-40 spindle; the B-axis uses a zero-backlash gear drive and the C-axis a direct drive system.
