Five-Axis Mill-Turn Center

CNC Systems, Inc. has announced a product launch of the Vision Wide ASM Series, 5-axis mill-turn center. Many die mold, aerospace, energy, automotive and job shops often have a variety of operations to machine and sometimes have to switch from machine to machine where one has turning and the other with 5 axis capabilities. "Not anymore," a company spokesperson said from CNC Systems. "CNC Systems has great configurations on the Vision Wide ASM Series, 5-axis mill-turn center, to machine a variety of parts, materials with different cutting conditions all offered on one machine."

For example: The Vision Wide ASM Series, 5-axis mill-turn center offers eight different models with table sizes of: 1,000 mm, 1,200 mm and 1,500 mm with single pallets/tables or an optional two pallet/table changer. Along with a variety of special heads: 45° universal head for milling, another head for milling and turning as well as a heavy cutting head with milling.

ASM is the first 5-axis CNC turning and milling machining center of Vision Wide, and it is particularly designed for delicate cylindrical components machining, featuring high acceleration, rapid feedrate and synchronized axes machining, especially for aerospace components, tire molds, turbine blades and aluminum parts.

ASM accessorizes with 5-axis universal head and rotary shafts built-in direct drive motor. Through topology analysis, ASM realizes the best distance between tool center point and B-axis transmission.

  • Positioning P0.006 mm
  • Repeatability Ps0.0055 mm
  • Spindle thermal compensation 0.02 mm
  • Rapid Traverse 40 m/min
  • Acceleration 0.3G
  • Cutting feedrate 24 m/min.

"The advantages of having the Vision Wide family of machines to offer to our customers, with the variety of sizes, small footprints and the variety of spindle configurations, allows a manufacturer to install a large capacity machine into a smaller footprint in their facility."

Parts, service and support are already in place for this machine line along with the other products that are imported through CNC Systems.
