The five FABTECH event partners announced that beginning in 2021, FABTECH Chicago-previously held in November-will shift its dates to September. FABTECH is North America's largest metalforming, fabricating, welding and finishing event. The event, hosted in odd years at Chicago's McCormick Place, will make its next visit to the Windy City on September 13-16, 2021, and remain in September in future odd years.
FABTECH's mission is to bring buyers and sellers together in a convenient venue to conduct business, make connections, share ideas and learn from one another. The Chicago-based event takes place over four days and welcomes more than 48,000 attendees and 1,700 exhibiting companies, filling three halls at McCormick Place with the latest technology innovations.
"FABTECH is one of the largest events held at McCormick Place, bringing $73 million delegation spending to Chicago," said John Catalano, SME Senior Director, FABTECH. "As a result of FABTECH's growth over the past years and our favorable relationship with the city and the convention center, we were proud to make this shift to support the needs of the industry."
Catalano continued, "We know the fall is a very busy period for the industry and our exhibitors, partners and attendees plan numerous activities around FABTECH. As a result, we felt it was important to give the industry as much notice as possible with regards to our show dates going forward to assist with their planning."
The dates and locations for FABTECH U.S. for the next six years will be as follows:
- November 18-20, 2020 - Las Vegas, NV
- September 13-16, 2021 - Chicago, IL
- November 8-10, 2022 - Atlanta, GA
- September 11-14, 2023 - Chicago, IL
- November 20-22, 2024 - Las Vegas, NV
- September 8-11, 2025 - Chicago, IL.
Exhibitors are very supportive of FABTECH and the decision to move the Chicago event dates to September. "FABTECH Chicago's new dates will serve the entire metal fabricating industry better than ever by timing the year's largest manufacturing event perfectly for new product launches and increasing show attendance," said Nick Ostrowski, General Manager, AMADA NORTH AMERICA, INC. "A September event will change our industry's buying cycle by offering exhibitors an opportunity to close more business before the end of the year."
"The shift in dates in Chicago is beneficial for our industry and a great move by FABTECH," added Burke Doar, Senior Vice President, TRUMPF Inc. "The September dates will build more excitement around the show and translate into an even more successful event for everyone involved."
