As a part of an overall investment in its production facilities, Sharpe Products, a provider of tube and pipe fabrication, has recently added to its technology stack with a JENOPTIK-Votan BIM fiber optic, robotic cutting machine. Used to reach, turn and cut complex 3D components, this machinery is built for multi-axis pipe and tube fabrication.
With this capability, features such as holes, slots or notches can be added after the bending process, eliminating more costly tooling and secondary operations such as machining, coping and drilling, thereby helping to reduce lead times and manage costs.
"This new technology adds strength to our laser cutting and bending capabilities, allowing us to increase production efficiencies and reduce time-to-market for numerous job specifications," stated Paul Krickeberg, President and CEO, Sharpe Products.
Adding to its existing lineup of fiber optic laser cutting machines, the JENOPTIK-Votan BIM is suited for automotive exhaust and emissions control, agriculture, heavy equipment and industrial applications.
An ISO 9001:2015 certified company, Sharpe Products provides expertise in pipe and tube bending, laser cutting and custom fabrication services for commercial and industrial applications.
