GoProto adds room for increased AM services.
GoProto has announced a major facility expansion in San Diego, CA. "The expansion is driven by increasing demand for HP's Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) technology and Multi-Material Fused Deposition Modeling (MMFDM) as well as demand for other ongoing short-run manufacturing services," said a GoProto spokesperson.
The expansion doubles GoProto's production capacity for its MJF and MMFDM additive manufacturing (AM) platforms.
"HP's MJF technology offers a high degree of part precision and strength, allowing us to serve customers in ways previously unavailable and at much faster lead times. This results in significant benefits to companies that want to shorten time-to-market and lower engineering costs," said Jesse Lea, President of GoProto. "Additionally, GoProto is the only service provider in North America to offer the MMFDM via 3ntr industrial 3-D printer. This technology delivers parts made from dissimilar rigid polymers and elastomeric materials at significant savings."
ITAR Certification
GoProto recently received International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) certification. ITAR is a set of U.S. government regulations that control the export and import of defense-related articles and services on the U.S. munitions list. This certification enables GoProto to manufacture products and take on projects that are marked to be under ITAR control.
"HP's MJF and MMFDM, along with the more traditional SLA processes, are ideally suited for custom manufacturing in the aerospace and defense sector," said Tony Moran, CEO of GoProto.
