The low profile of the FBL-360L, with a wide front door.
Rigid boxways for low-speed, heavy-duty machining. All slideways are hand scraped.
The FBL-360L can be used for large capacity workpieces.
Chevalier is offering its newly designed FBL-360L with 45° slant bed, rigid boxway structure and programmable tailstock.
"The FBL-360L offers a flexible, accurate and efficient solution for mixed volume, short run or dedicated high volume applications, delivering fast parts machining of bars up to 4.5 inches in diameter at speeds up to 2,500 RPM," said Chevalier's Chipcutting Sales Manager Herbert Hou. "The tool setters help reduce set-up times and keep non-machining times to a minimum. That is a huge asset."
The FBL-360L features a 15" chuck, 4.5" bar capacity, 30.3" maximum swing, maximum turning diameter of 22.4" and maximum turning length up to 80".
The ribbed Meehanite cast iron mono-block casting, with hardened and ground hand-scraped slideways, helps resist deflection and vibration during heavy machining and helps provide stable end-to-end cutting of long shafts.
The FBL-360L offers X and Z travels of 12.6" and up to 78" and 708 IPM rapid traverse. The X and Z axes positioning accuracy is ±0.0002" while repeatability is ±0.0001".
The lathe features 35 HP, AC digital spindle motor with a two-speed gearbox and 12" hydraulic chuck. It produces 735 ft-lbs torque at lower RPM.
The 10-station servo-indexing turret offers 0.5 second tool indexing time. The OD shank is 1-1/4" and the boring bar holds up to 2.5". The carousel is held by a large curved coupling and clamped by hydraulic pressure.
Standard equipment includes 12" 3-jaw hydraulic chuck, oil skimmer, chip conveyor and Renishaw tool presetter.
